Another fine display by Real FA Swans on Saturday morning in Wilson's Hospital School. Swans still with out some key players due to injury really showed the quality and depth of their squad. Starting the game really well and at high tempo the girls played some fantastic football. Outstanding displays in the first half from Eva Kelleghan, Ciara McManus, Jess Maloney and the return to top form of Zoe Mooney were just a few of the highlights of the opening exchanges. Swans had a good lead going into the break and the pick of the goals had to be Cailin Raleigh header from inside the box after a fantastic Chloe Smullen delivery. Cailin rose above the Portlaoise defence and powdered her header over the keeper. This young girl still under 14 is a real talent and one to be watched for the future.
Swans again emptied their bench at half time with Kacey Geoghgean & Aoife Glennon again putting in some fine performances. Our back four and keeper were as solid as ever. However with the girls tagging on a few more goals second half and Lauryn Sheridan grabbing her hat-trick the result was in the bag. Portlaoise to their credit continued to play in the right way and never gave up the fight. We would like to thank Portlaoise for traveling over for the early 10am start. Well done to our Swans who continue their good form.
