Academy News

Real Football Academy opened its doors this month to Longford Town FC. James Dermody and Ashing Conway two well established coaches oversaw four sessions with us and both were very pleased with the talent on show. James looked after our u12 Development Squad before taking our u14 Senior boys squad. These two groups of course of keen interest to the national league club as we head into an era which will see national league sides have teams at u13 & u15 as well as its established u17 & u19. Ashing on the other hand worked with out u10 junior academy who are always a pleasure to work with and to see how much they enjoy playing before giving our Real FA Swans u16 girls club side the full extent of her knowledge. Again an area of interest as I'm sure somewhere down the line all national league sides will have to establish a ladies set up similar to the men's section.

We as a young independent academy set up were delighted to be able to continue our relationship with Longford Town and we are already looking forward to their next visit.

As we hit the half way point in our final block of the season. We hope that our players are continuing to develop in their own individual ways. We also hope that both parents, player's and club coaches are beginning to or still seeing the benefits in our programme. Plans are already being put in place for next season with plenty of work being done behind the scenes.
