On the Academy side of things 2017 shot into life on the 16th Jan as we were back in action for the final twelve week block of the 16/17 season. Overall the response has being fantastic with a number of familiar faces back again. We have also a total of 15 New players in our mainstream academy who are in for their first experience of what it's like to be involved in Real Football Academy. The players were presented with their new academy kits this week and the last nine weeks promise to be very productive. We have a number of things planned which we will let you all know about in due course. Our academy minis also kicked off last weekend and with two new groups of boys and girls looking to develop their confidence and ability on the ball we were delighted that they have chosen us at the academy to help them with this. We now have a huge number of players from various local clubs taking advantage of the extra coaching during the week as they all work towards their individual goal.
Real FA Swans
On the club side of things our u16 Swans have taken four points from six thus far in 2017. Although not yet playing as free flowing as they had being prior to the Christmas break, a decent home point against Killeigh and an away win last weekend in Birr should help them build a little bit of momentum.
Our u13 session continues on a Thurs eve and the numbers are consistent which is fantastic. The girls are really starting to enjoy the session under the watchful eye of Liam Boggs a legend in girls football in his own right particularly at schools level where he has helped Wilson's to five regional title's.
Our u10 minis continue to grow and it's hoped that in the next couple of months we will be able to get a friendly or two for them before the season ends. The minis session continues also every Thursday eve 6-7pm in Loreto College.
