ACADEMY SECTION
December proved a very busy month once again inside our academy. We were delighted to host a guest coaches week where we had some highly experienced coaches on show. John o Dea
Manager of the Combined Counties Football League u18 side & Ladies Senior Side put our Development Squad through their paces. It what was a high quality session of ball manipulation and
small sided games and our development squad players went away with some extra knowledge in their locker. On the same evening our Senior Boys Squad were treated to a session and an insight to what
goes on behind the doors of an Airtricity League side. John Gill Assistant Manager of newly promoted Drogheda Utd put on a fantastic energetic session and spoke to the boys at length on
the importance of attitude and application to each session that they are involved in. I'm sure that our link with Drogheda Utd will continue and with the introduction with the u15s Airtricity
League, who knows Drogheda may be back on to look at our players.
Christmas Party....On Monday evening last we finished off our current twelve week block with a gathering of all our academy groups together including our three girls groups from our club
side Real FA Swans. We were delighted with the huge turn out of players, a massive seventy in total which all took to the field together. Small sided games followed by a huge party organised by
Simon Mooney and ablely assisted by a crew of parents on the night contributed to it being a massive success. We also had our Real FA swans Christmas Raffle. We would like to thank all the
players, parents, and local businesses for their support. Details of prize winners to follow.
New Year, New Block......Our booking lines are now opened for the next twelve week block in the new year. As always places tend to go fast so get in touch today. Sessions kick off on
Monday 16th Jan. Maybe this would make a nice present to finish off your Christmas Shopping. Check out our website www.realfootballacademy.ie for dates and times. Max 16 number of places per
group.
REAL FA SWANS
Real FA Swans u16 finished off 2016 with two more wins since our last edition. A home win against Banagher Utd and an away win against Killeigh Utd have left the Swans in second in the league
behind the Athlone based Bealnamulla. This position is a fantastic achievement thus far by our young side. The emergence of Sarah Geoghegan, Oonagh Cassidy and Jessica Maloney in recent weeks
with outstanding performances have being a key factor in the Swans recent two victories. However all the girls are aware that with plenty of games to go that things can change very quickly and
they will be looking to continue their good performances in 2017.
Our u14 coaching session is now finished until the new year. We hope that the girls we had will be all back in the new year. Details for this session will be released after Christmas.
Our u10 mini's all received their new training tops. They all look the part now and with our u16 Swans doing a great job each week helping out with this session the u10s now have role models to
look up to. This session is now also finished until Jan and details will be also released after Christmas.
